STORM CATCHER: 3:10pm Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Handicap

Simon Pearce’s charge has failed to fire in two subsequent starts, albeit carrying a penalty at Nottingham and still finishing third, but he did win here on debut and a return to the all-weather should suit him. He’s been gelded since his last run and may just be worth chancing given his track history.

The four-year-old son of Lawman has only won one of 14 career starts but has placed on many occasions so always gives his running. He’s run with credit on his last two starts at Chester but his all-weather record stands up ahead of the turf and remains off a workable mark of 74.

The in-form John & Thady Gosden partnership remain on-song of late and this interesting Cheveley Park Stud contender needs to bounce back now making his polytrack debut. He does have some good form to his name despite being outclassed in a couple of Class 1 events, but he’s back to six furlongs for the first time since his Coventry Stakes appearance in 2020 and a repeat of his Newmarket effort in early July should surely see him go close in this sphere.
