With only a day’s rest, the eyes of the flat world turn to Kempton Park on Wednesday night as a busy August continues.

Eight contests take place in Sunbury-on-Thames, with the action kickstarting at 5:25pm and concluding at the finish of the 9:00pm.

Here’s our three best bets of the evening who can outrun their odds in Surrey…

CARBON: 7:00pm Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes

Roger Varian has enjoyed plenty of success with his 2-year-old’s this campaign and his Kodiac debutant may be no different. A well-bred son of Mzyoon, he’s partnered by the in-form Andrea Atzeni and could be a tad overpriced by bookmakers at 8-1 despite coming up against a few more experienced sorts.

It’s a rarity that Dr. Richard Newland has a runner in this sphere but his previous course-and-distance winner was victorious here off only a 1lb lower mark and is partnered by duel champion jockey, Oisin Murphy. He has had a couple of spins over hurdles last month following a year off the track so should strip fitter and the drop-down back to this journey looks to be in his favour with 12-1 a big enough price to find out.

KEPALA: 8:30pm Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Handicap

The form from the 4-year-old’s Sandown Park fourth last time out is stacking up with four subsequent winners so she looks to hold strong claims off an unchanged mark. A step up to just short of two miles can unlock further improvement and despite a lofty weight, there looks enough in her favour to suggest she’ll be there at the finish.
