A pair of former Kempton winners return to action on Tuesday afternoon, with the hope of landing some black type in the Listed Land O’Burns Fillies’ Stakes at Ayr.

Mishal Star, who impressed in Sunbury-on-Thames as a two-year-old back in September, makes her fifth start in Listed company for Tom Ward.

The daughter of Mehmas bolted clear of her rivals at Kempton on only her second start, winning readily by four lengths over six furlong

She is yet to strike at this level of company, but the filly has been dropped in trip and will need to show some improvement if she is to win here.

Operatic is also dropped in trip for Simon & Ed Crisford, in hope of rediscovering her previous form.

The daughter of Showcasing landed two wins over six furlongs as a two-year-old, with her last success coming at Kempton back in September.

She will need to bounce back but she is unexposed over this distance and could well be one to watch here.
