Crowds descend onto the Kempton Park grounds on Monday afternoon for the first time in a covid-19 restricted England with seven contests taking place on the card at the Surrey course to kickstart the week.

We’ve delved through the card and its septet of contests, picking out of trio of best value selections who can outrun their odds in Sunbury-on-Thames later this afternoon.

Here are our picks…

ALLERBY: 1:30pm Unibet Casino Deposit 10 Get 40 Bonus Handicap | 1m

Henry Candy has one runner on the card and his Iffraaj filly has strong claims off an unchanged mark of 67. She finished third at Chepstow last time out with a much more improved performance and the second has gone in since, so the form is convincing enough to suggest she will have a part to play here. Additionally, she picked up the silver medal on her only previous course run and David Probert is booked up once again.

MACKENZIE ROSE: 2:40pm Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes | 7f

With plenty of horses running up to form recently, Mark Johnston’s Dark Angel representative comes up against a couple of inexperienced rivals here with a couple of runs under her belt to boot. Jim Crowley takes the reins in Surrey and the two-year-old should have more to offer now up in trip given some of her form and making her all-weather debut.

KATH’S LUSTRE: 4:20pm Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Fillies’ Handicap | 6f

In-form rider William Buick returns to the saddle after a fine string of efforts at Glorious Goodwood and this six-year-old returns to the all-weather sphere after runs on the turf. Her better performances have arrived in this environment and she remains only 3lb higher than her last winning mark. She’s up against younger rivals here but still looks well at the weights and is back up in trip, with a smaller field sure to suit.
