Usually taking place on the first Monday of August after a few summer months of Evening Racing meetings, it’s time for the August Afternoon Racing.

Kempton Park Racecourse is the proud home of this magnificent flat racing event, which offers a spectacular eight-race card that includes the likes of The Class 3 Fillies’ Handicap and The EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes among other wonderful fixtures.

Here are each of the races we’ll be expecting to witness at the next edition of the August Afternoon Racing meeting on Monday the 2nd of August 2021:

Novice Auction Stakes

The Novice Auction Stakes Flat Race is a Class 5 flat race for novice horses that takes place at Kempton Park Racecourse every August during the Afternoon Racing meeting.

The Novice Auction Stakes Flat Race, which is only accessible to horses aged just two years old, takes place over five furlongs at Kempton Park Racecourse and had only five runners last time around.

The most recent edition of The Class 4 Handicap Flat Race included a large prize pool worth £11,200, which was distributed proportionately among the top four race finishers as follows:

The Class 3 Fillies’ Handicap Flat Race is open to horses aged three and above. It is the joint longest race of the August Afternoon Racing meeting, running 1 mile, three furlongs, and 219 yards at Kempton Park Racecourse.

Odds

At the most recent edition of the August Afternoon Racing meeting, odds rose as high as 100/1 with three examples of this price across the board in The Class 5 Handicap (Div 2), The EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes and The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.

The biggest upset on this day was in The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes when 8/1 priced Melnikova took home the first-place prize and converted £10 outright backing stakes into £90 in returns, £80 in profits.
