Open to horses aged three years old and up, The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race runs just seven furlongs and usually features a small to moderate-sized field of runners.

At Kempton Park Racecourse in 2018, The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race, which took place during the August Afternoon Racing meeting was won by 3/1 priced race favourite Fennaan, ridden by jockey Robert Havlin and trained by John and Thady Gosden.
6/1 priced Apex King finished just three-quarters of a length behind Fennaan in second place, followed by 7/2 priced second-favourite Flavius Titus in third place and 12/1 priced Intransigent in fourth.
