The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race is annually the fifth race to be run at Kempton Park’s second of three August Evening Racing meetings.

Thanks to its state-of-the-art all-weather Polytrack, excellent floodlighting facilities and easy access from its own railway station, meetings are held at Kempton Park Racecourse several times most months, all year round.

About The Race

The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race is a Class 3 handicap flat race that serves as the fifth race of Kempton Park’s Evening Racing meeting every year.

Open to horses aged three years old and above, The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race runs 6 furlongs of Kempton Park Racecourse and usually features a moderately-sized field of runners – 11 last time out.

The most recent edition of The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race offered a generous prize pool worth £10,400, which was distributed between the first four race finishers as follows:

The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race did not take place during the second August Evening Racing of the year at Kempton Park Racecourse in 2019. Instead, the fifth race of the day was The Class 5 Handicap, which was won by 14/1 priced Image Of The Moon, ridden by jockey Cieren Fallon and trained by Shaun Keightley.

10/11 priced race favourite Dargel finished just half a length behind Image Of The Moon in second place, followed by 5/2 priced second-favourite Universal Effect in third place and 11/1 priced Kings Royal Hussar in fourth.

2018

The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race did not take place during the second August Evening Racing of the year at Kempton Park Racecourse in 2018. Instead, the fifth race of the day was the division 2 edition of The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes, which was won by 10/11 priced Angel’s Glory, ridden by jockey Andrea Atzeni and trained by Roger Varian.

14/1 priced Carricklane finished just three-quarters of a length behind Angel’s Glory in second place, followed by 13/2 priced Bubbly in third place and 3/1 priced second-favourite Nomoathaj in fourth.

2017

Once again, The Class 3 Handicap Flat Race did not take place during the second August Evening Racing of the year at Kempton Park Racecourse in 2018. Instead, the fifth race of the day was The Class 5 Handicap, which was won by 10/3 priced race favourite Mudallel, ridden by jockey James Doyle and trained by Ed Dunlop.

16/1 priced Precious Angel finished three and three-quarter lengths behind Mudallel in second place, followed by 6/1 priced Dangerous Ends in third place and 11/2 priced Scoones in fourth.
