The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (7F) Flat Race is a Class 5 flat race for novice fillies that annually serves as the third race of the day during the July Evening Racing meeting at Kempton Park Racecourse.

Exclusively eligible to fillies aged just 2 years old, The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (7F) Flat Race runs 7 furlongs of Kempton Park Racecourse and usually features a moderately sized field of runners.

Participants fought for a share of a £6,400 race purse last July, which was split proportionately between the first four race finishers in the following fashion:

1st place – 15/2 Last Sunset (IRE) – £4,140

2nd place – 11/8 Basilicata (IRE) – £1,232

3rd place – 16/1 Spring Time Bay (IRE) – £616

4th place – 16/1 Valorant (GB) – £308

16/1 priced Breath Of Joy finished a length and a quarter behind Hot Touch in second place, followed by 11/10 priced race favourite Tambourine Girl in third place and 14/1 priced Graceful Magic in fourth.

2018

Only the six-furlong edition of The EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (7F) Flat Race took place at Kempton Park’s July Evening Racing in 2018. This edition of the race was won by 5/4 priced race favourite Firelight, ridden by jockey Oisin Murphy and trained by Andrew Balding.

10/1 priced Shorter Skirt finished just a nose behind Firelight in second place, followed by 7/2 priced second-favourite Summer Blossom on third place and 33/1 priced outsider Penarth Pier in fourth.

2017

The July Evening Racing meeting did not take place at Kempton Park Racecourse in 2017.
