Featuring a range of Grade 1 and GBB races, The Christmas Festival is an exceptional two-day National Hunt horse racing affair that features a few of the most prestigious races on the National Hunt jumps calendar.

Hosted by the wonderful Kempton Park Racecourse and taking place on Boxing Day and the 27th of December every year, horse racing enthusiasts swarm to the world-class racing venue in Surrey to witness the likes of The Christmas Hurdle and The King George VI Chase – arguably the second most prestigious steeplechase behind The Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Here are the races that are expected to take place on each day of The Christmas Festival 2021, just as they usually do at the festival’s home on the outskirts of Greater London, just inside the County of Surrey:

Horses aged four years old and above can contest The Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle, which runs exactly 2 miles of Kempton Park Racecourse and features eight hurdles for the runners to jump.

The Ladbrokes King George VI Chase

The Ladbrokes King George VI Chase is a Grade 1, Class 1 National Hunt GBB steeplechase that serves as the penultimate and featured race of Day One at The Christmas Festival every year.
