KEMPTON | Three Value Picks to consider for Wednesday’s meeting

The team have picked out a trio of runners to consider for Wednesday’s action at Kempton

Horse Racing - The digibet Best of British Night - Kempton Park Racecourse

Racing fans are treated to a second straight day of racing in Surrey, with another eight-race card on offer for punters at Kempton.

The action in Sunbury-on-Thames gets underway with a 7f Novice Stakes at 4:58 and concludes at 8:30 with a 6f Handicap.

Our team have taken a look through the card, in hope of pinning down some value across the contests.

Here are three value picks to consider for Wednesday’s racing at Kempton.

DIOCLES OF ROME – 6:30 Kempton (12/1 – William Hill)

Under the guidance of Ralph Beckett, Diocles Of Rome could return to form in the 7f Handicap.

The gelding has slipped down the ratings in recent weeks and he is now back down to his last winning mark for his connections.

The six-year-old does carry some strong C&D form, so it may be worth taking a chance on his 12/1 price tag here.

SOLDIER’S MINUTE – 7:00 Kempton (11/2 – William Hill)

After running a cracker in the Ayr Silver Cup last month, Soldier’s Minute returns in a 6f Conditions Stakes for Keith Dalgleish.

The six-year-old has featured in handicaps for most of this season, but he has featured in Listed company on a handful of occasions in recent years.

The gelding has 9lbs to find in the ratings on the market favourite, but his form here is too good to ignore and his 11/2 price hints at some value in this contest.

FLAMING SPEAR – 7:30 Kempton (11/1 – William Hill)

Under the guidance of Dean Ivory, Flaming Spear could strike for the first time in almost three years in a 7f Handicap.

The son of Lope De Vega has been fairly inconsistent this season and he has slipped down to a mark of 76 following some poor performances.

The gelding is normally quite bright on the all-weather at Kempton and he hints at each-way value in this contest at 11/1.
