Oisin Murphy returns to Kempton this Wednesday for six rides, fresh off the back of being crowned top jockey Royal Ascot’s five-day meeting last week.
The Irish pilot recorded six successes in Berkshire, including in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes on Friday afternoon, and a single victory on Saturday meant he took home the crown in the aftermath of flat racing’s greatest meeting.
He told Racing TV: “It’s special because as I’ve got older I’ve appreciated these days even more. I know I’m only 25, but life is precious. It’s a huge buzz.
“My best moment of the week was Alcohol Free. She came along at a very important time in my career last year, I was under a lot of pressure and I managed to nail a Group One, and yesterday was a similar scenario.
“The pressure was on.”
Now, the 25-year-old’s focus shifts to more action for the week upcoming at Newbury and Kempton Park, repsectively.
After two silver medal displays in a row, Madame Ambassador bids to shed her maiden tag for Mark Johnston with Murphy set to partner her in the 6:40pm Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.
Other notable rides for the pilot this Wednesday include Bonneval and Sweet Celebration.
