May’s Kempton victor Sandrine heads the betting for Thursday’s Sky Bet Lowther Stakes at the Ebor Festival, bidding to extend her win-streak to four.

Andrew Balding’s star juvenile kickstarted her career in Sunbury-on-Thames back in May in a hot contested that included Epsom Derby Festival and recent French Group 3 winner Oscula, who subsequently chased home the Bobby’s Kitten 2-year-old at Royal Ascot and the July Festival, respectively.

She will not reoppose that rival on the Knavesmire, though she will have to concede 3lb to the fellow line of 11 in the Thursday opening at 1:50pm.

Kingsclere chief Balding stated last week that if all goes to plan in Yorkshire, she will represent the yard in the Group 1 Cheveley Park at Newmarket later this term.

He told Timeform: “Sandrine looks very good and I’ve been thrilled with her last two runs.

“She will run in the Lowther next, then all eyes will be on the Cheveley Park.

“She seems to be very versatile ground-wise. She is a very smart filly and is an absolute pleasure to train.

Sandrine’s win-streak began at Kempton; will she land a Festival hat-trick at York this week?

“I think her two Group wins were equally as impressive as they were under very different conditions. It was nice to see her do it on the quick ground in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes and prove she is not a one-trick pony.”
