James Doyle was the star of the Kempton Park show on Wednesday night as he landed a double with Simon and Ed Crisford’s shrewd stable keeping up their fine recent run of form in Sunbury-on-Thames.

The duo celebrated victory with Lord Lovelace winning on debut at odds of 11/2, after Doyle secured success for the George Boughey trained Tollard Royal in the opener, blitzing the field by three-and-a-half lengths.

Hughie Morrison’s Thunderclap, our team’s NAP of the day, duly rewarded heavy market support under Oisin Murphy and obtain a second win in a row at the Surrey course, but the two-time Champion Jockey was denied a double of his own as Summertime Romance saw off Spring Flow by a neck.

Tribal Art ensured is was a worthy trip south for Franny Norton and Mark Johnston, with Pinball Wizard and Solomons Judgement the remaining winners on the card.
